Skoda Auto signed a Strategic Business Cooperation Agreement with Thanh Cong Motor (TC Motor) on October 7, 2022. TC Motor will import and distribute Skoda cars in 2023 and will later assemble and manufacture models locally.
Production is planned at Viet Hung Industrial Park in Quang Ninh. The Czech Minister of Industry and Trade visited the site on February 22, 2023 as the two sides prepare implementation plans.

TC Group has invested in a factory within Viet Hung Industrial Park to support manufacturing and assembly of Skoda cars for the Vietnamese market and the region.
› Skoda joins hands with TC Motor to distribute and assemble cars
In its internationalisation process, Skoda chose Vietnam as a new market. After negotiations, Skoda and Thanh Cong Motor Vietnam (TC Motor) reached a Strategic Business Cooperation Agreement on October 7, 2022 in Hanoi. Skoda's first cars will be imported and distributed by TC Motor in 2023, with local assembly to follow.

TC Motor is the partner responsible for distribution and assembly in Vietnam.
Initially, car models will be imported from Europe in 2023. As Skoda Auto's partner in Vietnam, TC Motor will be responsible for distribution and, in the future, local manufacturing. With more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing and distributing cars, Thanh Cong Group is also investing in developing industrial parks. Skoda models are planned to be manufactured in Viet Hung Industrial Park, Quang Ninh province.

On February 22, 2023, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Mr. Jozef Síkela, and his delegation visited and worked with Thanh Cong Group at the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automotive and Supporting Industry Complex. This is where TC Group invested in a factory to manufacture and assemble Skoda Auto brand cars following the October 2022 cooperation agreement. The visit highlighted the cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic and the plans to support the launch and production of Skoda cars in the region.
