Since 1993 Skoda Auto has been an official main sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. For the 2023 tournament in Tampere and Riga Skoda provided a fleet of 45 cars, the majority of which were pure electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).
Skoda used the event to introduce a new brand identity, present tournament-liveried models and act as exclusive partner of the IIHF 2023 app, offering statistics and match-prediction features for fans.
Skoda presented a refreshed brand image across arenas and on vehicle liveries, including two new identity colors and prominent logo placement in rinks and advertising stands.
Most of the 45 cars supplied to organizers were EVs and PHEVs. Models were paraded through the host cities and marked with the tournament's distinctive styling and the Skoda Auto logo.

The tournament took place from 12 to 28 May in the Finnish city of Tampere and the Latvian capital Riga. Skoda brought 45 cars to the competition, with the majority being pure electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

In keeping with tradition, the Skoda logo appeared in the ice rink’s central ring, on advertising stands and around the venues. Skoda models were decorated in the tournament's style and paraded through the cities where matches took place.
Skoda was the exclusive partner of the IIHF 2023 app, which offered ice hockey fans worldwide access to statistics, the ability to predict match results and share predictions. The app was available in several languages for both Android and iOS.
