On the morning of April 22, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and his delegation visited the Skoda Auto automobile manufacturing and assembly plant project at the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex in Viet Hung Industrial Park (Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province). Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of relevant departments and branches welcomed and worked with the delegation.
Speaking at the reception and working session, both sides expressed their satisfaction that the Czech Republic's largest automaker is cooperating with Thanh Cong Group to invest in the province. Acting Chairman Cao Tuong Huy said the TC Group and Skoda Auto project aligns with the province's policy to attract industrial processing and manufacturing using modern, smart technology and to develop high value-added products for sustainable economic growth.
Quang Ninh committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the project, including simplifying administrative procedures, supporting land and site clearance, meeting human resource needs and providing convenient public services. TC Group leadership presented souvenirs to the Czech delegation and the province pledged support to make the Skoda factory a symbol of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
About Viet Hung Industrial Park
The Škoda manufacturing and assembly plant invested by TC Group will be built on 36.5 hectares within the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automotive and Supporting Industry Complex, which has a total scale of 400 hectares. The plant is planned with a capacity of 120,000 vehicles per year and will apply Skoda Auto's advanced technologies and high levels of automation to meet European standards.
The Czech delegation directly visited and surveyed the site and construction progress. The Czech Republic has expressed strong interest and support to help the project proceed on schedule, aiming to bring the longstanding Czech car brand to Vietnam in the near future.
