Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic)
Mladá Boleslav is Škoda's headquarters and main production plant. Nearly 590,000 cars rolled out of the local factory gates in 2019, with 260,000 of these being the brand's best‑seller Octavia. The Fabia, Scala, Kamiq and Karoq were also produced there. The factory produces engines, gearboxes, batteries and axles, and features a modern paint shop and a company Data Centre with high‑performance computing. Škoda remains the only company in the Czech Republic that both develops and manufactures passenger cars. The development and technology centre and engine and transmission centres have expanded capacity and specialist staff over recent decades.
Kvasiny (Czech Republic)
The automotive tradition in Kvasiny began in the 1930s. The plant has produced notable Škoda models including the Felicia cabriolet and 110 R coupe. Following extensive modernization, Kvasiny now manufactures Superb models (including Superb iV), and SUVs such as the Kodiaq and Karoq. Recent years saw production records exceeded, with more than 320,000 cars made in one year.
Vrchlabí (Czech Republic)
Vrchlabí’s production history stretches back to the 19th century. It produced bodies for various marques and became part of Škoda. The plant manufactured models such as the 1101 Tudor, Skoda 120, FAVORIT, FORMAN and later Felicia and Octavia. In 2012 it was converted to produce modern dual‑clutch automatic transmissions – around 556,000 units were produced in the referenced year, raising the total above three million. Its DQ200 gearbox is used in many Škoda and Volkswagen models.
Prague (Czech Republic)
Prague is linked to the brand’s early public appearances and product launches. The city hosts Škoda design studios and offices of Škoda AUTO DigiLab, working on smart mobility, electrification, AI and digital services. Projects such as BeRider and the Citymove multimodal app originated from local initiatives.
Bratislava (Slovakia)
An automobile factory in Devínska Nová Ves near Bratislava was established in 1971. It produced models like the Garde and Rapid. After privatization and later Volkswagen ownership, Škoda models such as the Octavia and Citigo (including the electric Citigoe iV) have been produced there.
Pune (India)
Pune hosts Škoda production for the Indian market, a software development centre and a branch of Škoda Auto DigiLab. A Technology Centre opened near Pune in January 2019 as part of the INDIA 2.0 project, supporting higher localization and development of vehicles for India.
Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga (Russia)
Škoda’s presence in Russia dates back over a century; a significant share of early exports served Russian customers. Modern plants in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod produce models such as the Octavia, Kodiaq and, from CKD kits, the compact Karoq.
Nanjing (China)
China is Škoda’s largest national market in recent years. Modern production began in 2007 with plants in Nanjing (Kamiq, Kamiq GT, Superb), Ningbo (Octavia, Karoq), Changsha (Kodiaq, Kodiaq GT) and Yicheng (Rapid), supporting the brand’s strong presence in China.
Monte Carlo (Monaco)
Monte Carlo and events like the Monte Carlo Rally are part of Škoda’s motorsport legacy, with historic successes from the 1930s to recent Fabia Rally2 evo achievements. Special Monte Carlo editions have honored that heritage since 1936 and more recently from 2011 onward.
Otahuhu (New Zealand)
New Zealand has a long Škoda presence. The Trekka (1966–1972), based on the Octavia Super and produced in Otahuhu, Auckland, is an example of Škoda‑derived local production and exports to nearby markets and beyond.
Tel Aviv (Israel)
Škoda has been active in Israel since the 1990s. The world premiere of the Scala took place in Tel Aviv in December 2018. Škoda Auto DigiLab Israel fosters partnerships with local startups and invests in digital, AI and mobility innovations.
Paris (France)
Paris influenced early founders and has hosted important motor shows and product debuts. Škoda has been a partner of major events like the Tour de France, and designers have created trophies and special‑edition models celebrating the brand’s ties to sporting and cultural events.
